Today I had a fabulous ashiatsu massage from Kristy. This was my first-ever "massage by feet". I wasn't sure what to expect.
Let me preface this by saying I am a little bit of a "massage snob". I've had many massage therapists over the past 30 years and have been blessed to find a couple of really GREAT ones. With a bad back due to scoliosis, it is imperative I get a competent, knowledgeable therapist who knows the muscular and skeletal systems well, but who also embodies a calming, spiritual, holistic nature to their work.
Body work is sacred to me, so I like to find someone who balances the mechanics of massage therapy with the more energetic nature of bodywork. Thoughts and emotions are just energy and often get stored in the physical body; these can be released through bodywork done with intention. Well, Kristy was AH-mazing in her abilities and her restorative work was so relaxing and effective.
Kristy definitely met & surpassed my high standards and gave me 90-minutes of bliss! She listened carefully to my concerns and pain issues and did a fantastic 90-minutes of healing work on me. Kristy has a calm, intuitive style but she is strong and effective.
I would definitely recommend 60, 90, or even 120 minutes with Kristy!
I get 'tune up' massages every now and then due stiffness from the dreaded office chair. But, I've never had an Ashiatsu massage until I gave Living Massage a try. It was surprisingly relaxing, and I highly recommend it. They're very down to earth and kind people. Get the 90 min massage. It gives more time for your therapist to be thoroughly, and familiarize to your particular body structure. This place is off to a great start! :-)
I've been in pursuit of the perfect massage therapist in Austin for quite some time - jumping from one place to another, leaving many of those sessions with buyers remorse or zero relief from my pain. Professional massages done right are often worth even more than you pay for them, and you'll find this to be the case with Living Massage. My therapist was well versed in the body; the anatomy, mind and the spirit. The techniques were impressive, as was the experience end-to-end. I highly recommend Living Massage to anyone - whether they're looking for pain relief, prevention, or simply a moment of peace.
